About NADJ CiC
The National Association of Disc Jockeys (NADJ) CiC is a UK-based membership organisation supporting professional DJs through advocacy, education, networking, guidance, and member benefits. The organisation works to promote professionalism, high standards, and long-term sustainability within the mobile DJ industry while operating as a Community Interest Company for the benefit of its members and the wider sector.

NADJ CiC is seeking independent Non-Executive Director(s) to support the strategic direction, governance, accountability, and future development of the organisation.

Purpose of the Role
The Non-Executive Director(s) will provide independent oversight, constructive challenge, professional expertise, and strategic guidance to the executive leadership and operational board. The role focuses on governance, transparency, financial sustainability, and ensuring the organisation operates in the best interests of its members and community purpose.

This is not a day-to-day operational management role. Non-Executive Directors are expected to maintain independence while contributing positively to the organisation’s development and reputation.

Key Responsibilities
Provide independent strategic oversight and governance support.
Attend and contribute to quarterly board meetings and strategic discussions.
Support compliance with Companies House, CIC regulations, and relevant legislation.
Assist in reviewing governance frameworks, policies, and organisational structure.
Offer constructive challenge and objective external perspective where appropriate.
Support financial oversight and long-term sustainability planning.
Promote professionalism, transparency, and ethical leadership standards.
Assist in identifying opportunities for growth, partnerships, and member value.
Act as an ambassador for NADJ CiC and support positive industry relationships.
Contribute specialist knowledge and experience to board discussions.
Person Specification
Applicants should demonstrate:

Previous board, governance, trustee, director, or senior leadership experience.
Strong understanding of governance and strategic planning.
Ability to think independently and objectively.
Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
Integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Experience in finance, legal compliance, HR, digital transformation, marketing, membership organisations, education, or the events sector would be advantageous.

Time Commitment
Approximately 4 hours per quarter.
Attendance at scheduled remote board meetings and occasional strategic discussions.
Remuneration
£25 per hour.
Nominal pre-approved expenses reimbursed in line with company policy.
