Plum Park Manor
Venue overview
Plum Park Manor is a luxurious wedding venue situated just outside Towcester in Northamptonshire. This Victorian manor house is set within well-maintained gardens, offering a blend of historic charm and modern amenities. The venue allows exclusive use, ensuring that couples and their guests can enjoy a private setting for their special day.
The manor boasts several event spaces, most notably the Orangery, which is licensed for civil ceremonies, and a stylish marquee for receptions. This setup allows for flexibility in planning the day’s flow, accommodating both formal dining and more relaxed evening celebrations.
Why it may suit weddings and events
One of the standout features of Plum Park Manor is the seamless transition from ceremony to reception. Couples can exchange vows in the light-filled Orangery and then move to the marquee for their wedding breakfast and evening festivities. With a capacity for up to 192 guests for a formal meal, the venue caters well to larger gatherings.
Additionally, the availability of overnight accommodation for the wedding couple and up to 19 guests in stylish bedrooms provides convenience, allowing everyone to stay on-site. This could be beneficial for event planners coordinating larger weddings, as pre-wedding logistics and post-event gatherings can occur seamlessly.
DJ setup and supplier access notes
DJs should consider the logistics of access to the venue. While the venue promotes ease of access, it’s advisable for mobile DJs to confirm specific details, such as parking availability and any restrictions. Loading equipment should be straightforward; however, it’s prudent to inquire about the proximity of parking to the setup area.
In terms of setup, the marquee is likely the ideal space for a DJ, but checking the power supply and available outlets is essential. Review comments indicate there may be a designated area for entertainment, so confirming the best position for sound quality and guest engagement would be beneficial.
Sound, timings and guest experience
Regarding sound management, it is unclear if there are any sound limiters or specific noise restrictions set by the venue. DJs should clarify these details to ensure their equipment can operate effectively throughout the evening. The evening reception flow generally follows the wedding breakfast, allowing ample time for music and dancing. Communication with the venue staff about the evening’s timeline can help ensure a smooth experience for guests.
Reviews and client feedback themes
Client feedback highlights numerous positives about the overall experience at Plum Park Manor, particularly the beautiful setting and attentive staff. Many couples express satisfaction with the quality of food and the accommodating nature of the service. However, one review suggests that there have been occasional concerns regarding customer service on the day of the event. Overall, the majority of reviews lean towards a very positive sentiment, often mentioning, “the happiest day of our lives!”
