The Oak Grove
Venue overview
The Oak Grove, located in Upchurch, Kent, offers a unique woodland setting dedicated to weddings and events. This venue is distinguished by its eco-friendly approach, set within a beautifully maintained glade surrounded by ancient oak trees. The Oak Grove accommodates exclusive use for up to three days, allowing couples to immerse themselves in a relaxed and personal celebration.

Why it may suit weddings and events
This venue is ideal for those seeking a rural, festival-like atmosphere for their wedding. As it offers both indoor and outdoor spaces, couples can choose to host their ceremony under the trees or within the stretch tents. The setup allows for a seamless transition from the ceremony to the reception, catering for both intimate gatherings and larger celebrations.
Event planners and couples can benefit from the dedicated services provided by the venue, including full staffing and coordination support. This ensures that the flow of events is managed smoothly, allowing guests to enjoy the experience without feeling rushed.
DJ setup and supplier access notes
Access for suppliers and DJs should be straightforward, with ample on-site parking available for unloading equipment. However, specifics regarding loading areas have not been detailed; it would be wise for DJs to confirm the designated loading zone. Comments suggest checking for any stairs or potential obstacles that could influence setup time.
The likely setup position for DJs appears to be within one of the stretch tents, but confirming exact placement with the venue is advisable. Additionally, understanding the power supply available for sound equipment is critical, as well as any specific power requirements or limitations that may apply to the venue.
Sound, timings and guest experience
The Oak Grove does not explicitly mention sound limiters, which is an important factor for DJs to verify prior to an event. Couples should discuss with the venue about any restrictions on noise levels, especially during evening receptions. Timings for the evening entertainment should also be clarified, as well as how late events can run.
Good communication with the venue staff is crucial for ensuring that the evening flow runs according to plan, particularly when transitioning from dinner to dancing. Having a clear agreement on timings can prevent hiccups during the celebration.
Reviews and client feedback themes
Reviews highlight the beautiful natural setting and the professionalism of the staff. Many comments express satisfaction with the overall experience, often mentioning how the environment enhances the event. One review noted the staff were “flawless and amazing,” underlining the attentive service provided. However, some feedback suggests confirming details regarding logistics ahead of time.
The provisional rating reflects good access and setup potential, but logistics should be confirmed with the venue.
