Big Al is one of the UK’s most respected dance music figures. From his first gig in 1982 at his local youth club, running his ‘’Seventh Heaven’’ mobile disco through the 80’ & 90’s, his club gigs throughout the 90’s, 00’s, 10’s & 20’s, Al has played more than a 4 thousand gigs, this has earned him recognition and respect from all the industries premier league DJ’s & promoters.

His innovative and infectious sets have not gone unnoticed by the media. In 1999 he was picked as one of Muzik magazine’s ‘New Faces’, alongside Guy Ornadel and Yousef, later that year he went on to mix the cover mount CD for Club On magazine.
In 2002 Al was awarded the title of ‘Best Progressive House DJ’ by the Music Academy of Wales and defended that very same title in 2003.
August 2003, Radio 1 announced Big Al as the ‘Best UK resident DJ’, voted for by the listeners of Radio 1, subsequently Big Al kicked off Creamfields, on the Radio 1 outdoor stage to a reported 37,000 clubbers…

Earlier that summer Big Al played the closing set at ‘Escape into the Park 2003′ Wales’ largest outdoor dance festival, attracting a crowd of 25,000 revellers to Swansea’s Singleton Park. This has been an annual event for Al since its launch in 2000.
2004 started off with another award, this time he was voted Best Trance DJ by the South Wales Dance Music Peoples Award, followed shortly by the start of his radio show on Vibe FM, a show dedicated to house & trance. In that same year, Al made his debut at Judge Jules’ Judgement Sunday at Eden in Ibiza. Since then he has returned regularly to a capacity crowd at one of the island busiest and most respected nights.
September 2006 proved to be Big Al’s most prolific time in his career, with Vibe FM being taken over by media giant’s EMAP and was asked to join the legendary Kiss FM team, according to RAJAR his Friday night show was the most listened to dance show across South Wales & The West, keeping him at the Number 1 spot for his entire stay at Kiss…
Following his departure from Kiss, Big Al hosted the weekly ‘The Sound Of Escape’ podcast. Launched in 2012, the Sound Of Escape podcast appeared for 27 consecutive weeks in the iTunes ‘New and Noteworthy’ section as well as receiving tens of thousands of downloads per month.
His faultless mixing and perfect programming has earned him plays all over the world including, Amnesia, Es Paradis, Eden, Coastline & Kanya – Ibiza, Pacha – Buenos Aires, Coldharbour – Amsterdam, Babyface – China, the official ‘Michael Jackson Forever’ after show party, warmed up for Pete Tong & The Heritage Orchestra ‘Ibiza Classics’ (12,000 people), Global Gathering, Creamfields, Ministry Of Sound a 3 year residency at Liquid, Cardiff & Club Oxygen, Swansea, and head resident DJ, promoter & talent booker at Welsh super club ’ESCAPE SWANSEA’ that spanned over 15 years…
Throughout his continuing DJ career, Al has worked alongside Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Paul Oakenfold, Eric Prydz, John Digweed, Carl Cox, Above & Beyond Judge Jules, Dave Pearce, Laidback Luke, Danny Howard, Mark Knight, Eddie Halliwell, Hannah Wants, Gareth Emery & Robin S.
During the pandemic, Al decided to go back to his roots with the launch of his ‘’Concept : Portable Discotheque’’ a unique and contemporary take on the mobile disco & wedding market.
It would be completely fair to say that every person who has seen him play, have all been blown away by the control and effect he has on the dancefloor. He is renowned for his ability to seamlessly mix all genres of music and keep the crowd coming back for more.
